Best Hajj Duas for Each Day: Your Complete Supplication Guide
Duas by Ritual & Day
Hajj is the single greatest opportunity for dua (supplication) in a Muslim's lifetime. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: "The best of dua is the dua on the Day of Arafat." (Tirmidhi). This guide organises every essential Hajj dua by ritual and day so you can memorise them before your journey — or follow along in our VR Hajj experience where each dua is recited at the exact location.
The Talbiyah — From Ihram Onwards
The Talbiyah is recited continuously from the moment you enter Ihram until you begin Tawaf on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah.
Labbayk Allahumma labbayk. Labbayk la shareeka laka labbayk. Innal-hamda wan-ni'mata laka wal-mulk. La shareeka lak.
"Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise, grace, and sovereignty belong to You. You have no partner."
Duas for Tawaf (7 Circuits)
There is no single fixed dua for each circuit of Tawaf — you may make any dua you wish. However, these are authentically narrated and recommended:
At the Black Stone (Start of Each Circuit)
Bismillahi, Allahu Akbar
"In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest."
Between the Yemeni Corner and Black Stone (Every Circuit)
Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil-akhirati hasanatan wa qina 'adhab an-nar
"Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire." (Quran 2:201)
After Completing Tawaf — At Maqam Ibrahim
Wattakhidhu min maqami Ibrahima musalla
"And take the standing place of Ibrahim as a place of prayer." (Quran 2:125)
Pray 2 Rak'ahs behind Maqam Ibrahim. In the first, recite Surah al-Kafirun; in the second, recite Surah al-Ikhlas.
Duas for Sa'i (Safa & Marwah)
At the Top of Safa (Facing the Kaaba)
Innassafa wal-marwata min sha'a'irillah
"Indeed, Safa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah." (Quran 2:158)
Then say: "Abda'u bima bada'Allahu bihi" — "I begin with what Allah began with." Then make your own personal duas.
Duas at Arafat — The Best Day for Dua
The Day of Arafat (9th Dhul Hijjah) is the most powerful day for supplication in Islam. The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
"The best of dua is the dua on the Day of Arafat, and the best of what I and the prophets before me have said is: La ilaha ill-Allahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in Qadeer."
"There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. His is the sovereignty and His is the praise, and He is able to do all things." — Tirmidhi
What to Do at Arafat
- Face the Qiblah and raise your hands
- Recite the dua above repeatedly
- Make every personal dua you have — in any language
- Cry, beg, plead — this is the day Allah descends to the lowest heaven and boasts about the pilgrims to the angels
- Make dua for your parents, family, the Ummah, the deceased
- Do not stop until Maghrib — then depart to Muzdalifah
Duas at Muzdalifah
Upon arriving at Muzdalifah after Arafat:
- Pray Maghrib and Isha combined (shortened)
- Make dua at al-Mash'ar al-Haram after Fajr until just before sunrise
"And when you depart from Arafat, remember Allah at al-Mash'ar al-Haram." — Quran 2:198
Duas for Stoning the Jamarat
With Each Pebble (All Days)
Allahu Akbar
"Allah is the Greatest."
After the Small and Medium Pillars
Face the Qiblah, raise your hands, and make lengthy personal dua. The Prophet (ﷺ) would stand for a long time making dua after the first two pillars (but not after the large pillar).
Powerful General Duas for Hajj

"O Allah, You are the Pardoner and You love to pardon, so pardon me." — Tirmidhi

Tips for Making Dua During Hajj
- Prepare your dua list before you go — Write down everything you want to ask for. You will forget in the moment.
- Make dua in any language — Allah understands all languages. Use Arabic for the narrated duas, but pour your heart out in your mother tongue.
- Don't limit yourself — Ask for this world and the next. Nothing is too big or too small.
- Include others — Make dua for your parents, children, spouse, friends, the sick, the oppressed, and the entire Ummah.
- Crying is a sign of sincerity — Let your tears flow. If they don't come naturally, try to feel the weight of standing before your Creator.
- Repeat, repeat, repeat — The Prophet (ﷺ) would repeat each dua three times.
