A blessed journey that can be performed at any time of the year. Experience the spiritual renewal of visiting Allah's Sacred House through our immersive VR platform.
Umrah is the "lesser pilgrimage" to Makkah that can be performed at any time of the year, unlike Hajj which has specific dates. While not obligatory, Umrah is highly recommended (Sunnah Mu'akkadah) and carries immense spiritual rewards. It is a chance to seek closeness to Allah, seek forgiveness, and renew one's faith.
"And complete the Hajj and Umrah for Allah."
— Quran 2:196The Prophet ﷺ said: "One Umrah to the next is an expiation for what is between them."
Unlike Hajj, Umrah can be performed throughout the year, making it more accessible.
Umrah can be completed in a few hours, making it ideal for those with limited time.
A chance to reconnect with Allah, refresh your iman, and return spiritually recharged.
Four essential rituals to complete your Umrah
Enter the sacred state at the Miqat (designated boundary). Perform ghusl (ritual bath), wear Ihram garments, make your intention, and begin reciting the Talbiyah.
"O Allah, I intend to perform Umrah, so make it easy for me and accept it from me."
Circle the Kaaba seven times in a counter-clockwise direction, starting from the Black Stone (Hajr al-Aswad). Each circuit is called a "shawt." Men should perform Raml (brisk walking) in the first three circuits.
"In the name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest"
"Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."
Walk seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwa, commemorating Hajar's desperate search for water for her infant son Ismail. Start at Safa and end at Marwa. The total distance is about 3.15 km.
"Indeed, Safa and Marwa are among the symbols of Allah."
Complete your Umrah by shaving the head (Halq - recommended for men) or trimming the hair (Taqsir). Women cut a fingertip's length from the ends of their hair. This releases you from the state of Ihram.
Drink from the blessed Zamzam well and make dua. The Prophet ﷺ said: "The water of Zamzam is for whatever purpose it is drunk for."
After Tawaf, pray 2 rakats behind Maqam Ibrahim if possible, or anywhere in the Masjid.
Looking at the Kaaba is an act of worship. Take moments to simply gaze and make heartfelt dua.
Spend time reciting Quran in the sacred Masjid where rewards are multiplied manifold.
Pray Tahajjud and spend the blessed nights in worship at the Sacred Mosque.
If possible, visit Madinah to pray at Masjid an-Nabawi and send salutations upon the Prophet ﷺ.
